SummerFest 2006 Sucked!

So, SummerFest wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be. I had forgotten it was Saturday night, as well as the last night for all night drinking/partying before SummerFest ended. The place was a High School/Kegger party. People were walking here & there, not really stopping for anything. They were just cruising. It was insanely crowded - more so than Great America, or any outdoor concert I've ever been to. It seemed more like a riot than a crowd. How disappointing. Not even 5 minutes into the Fest, did we lose each other in the crowd. It took us nearly an hour to get back to one another. We could hear the Dresden Dolls singing, but couldn't see over the many drunk 15-yr-olds. No one knew the words of any of the songs until the Dresden Dolls started doing cover songs (at least, I think they were still on stage). As soon as a Britney Spears song started playing, the entire crowd started singing. It was sad.

Cleveland, Ohio Trip 2004

In September 2004, Blah invited me on a 3-day trip to Cleveland, Ohio to visit his friends & family. Our trip started off with hours of traffic on east I-90/94 & included many stops at expensive t(r)oll booths. We also had to make pit-stops for Duke, Blah's black lab. We arrived Cleveland in the wee hours of the morning & their friendly neighborhood cop pulled us over for expired plates (the reason why were in Cleveland was so that Blah could take his emission test & update his plates). Blah was ticketed & warned that if he was caught driving around again, the cops would impound his car. Bastards! So, we were car-less until I rented a car later that afternoon.

Boston, MA Trip 2003

Todd & I went for a long trip to Boston to visit my cousin, Alex. We stayed at a huge 12 bedroom Vegan Co-Op in Cambridge. It was beautiful & our other flatmates were very nice. They were such an array of characters - seniors, foreigners, & transients. Our building was a short walk from Harvard, so Todd & I did a little exploring around the campus. We recalled the story of how Matt Damon used to breakdance for money at the campus, so Todd did his little reinactment in front of the school. I caught it all on video tape (heh-heh). Down the street from campus was the Greenhouse Cafe, where I spent most of my time writing in my journal & eating their 3-layer cakes (especialy the German chocolate cake - yum!). Todd & I did a little shopping & eating around Cambridge for the first part of our trip, then it was off to explore downtown Boston.

Hash Bash 2003

Todd & I went to Ann Arbor, MI to hang out with his brother's family. Chris, Jen, & Summer are the best! I had a wonderful visit! Their friends were fun to hang out with, too! Hash Bash was soooooo cold, but we found a way to warm up: mini-pitchers of beer @ the local pub on campus. I can't remember the name of the place, but it was neat. There were mounted cops everywhere, but they didn't do anything. We all toked til the sun came up. It was a great weekend.

SummerFest 2002

This was the first time I ever went to SummerFest in Milwaukee, WI. There were so many awesom unknown bands performing (unknown to me). We visited the entire park, as well as the Jimi Hendrix museum. I know that I'll be going to SummerFest again & again!

New York Trip 2002

This wasn't my first trip to New York City, but it was my first time experiencing the Big Apple over the legal age of drinking & it was also my first time photographing a trip with a digital camera. My sister & I flew out to New York for a long stay in May. We stayed with my cousin, Grace, at her apartment in Queens. Pricilla & I walked through Central Park, took photos from the top of the Empire State Building, we took a tour through NBC Studios, shopped around Soho & the East Village, then danced at Club Exit until 8am. We basically went everywhere around Manhattan!
