JAB Holding Company owns multiple pet insurance brands:

  • AKC
  • Petplan
  • Pets Plus Us
  • Agila
  • Animal Friends
  • Pets Best

“In March 2019, a German newspaper revealed that Albert Reimann Sr., and his son Albert Reimann Jr., were enthusiastic supporters of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party well before they took power, and profited from forced labor, both in their industrial chemicals company in southern Germany and in their own home. The revelations sparked ethical questions about consumer support for companies that owe their success in part to the historical use of forced labor.”

If you are anti-facists, then avoid these insurance brands.

Lemonade is an Israeli-founded, US-based digital insurance company (insurtech) known for using AI, chatbots (“Maya”). They were 1st known for their low cost car insurance, but now offers pet insurance.

If you support Palestine, the Clean Water Act, & are against subsidizing AI infrastructure, avoid Lemonade.

Independent pet insurance companies, such as Healthy Paws, Fetch, and Trupanion, operate without ownership by major private equity conglomerates like JAB Holding Company.

Cody Roberts, Wyoming

“Thursday’s proceedings offered new details about the Feb. 29, 2024, incident, which culminated with Roberts bringing the injured wolf into the Green River Bar in Daniel. The wolf limped during a reluctant walk into the establishment, but by the end of the night it evidently did not have the capacity to move on its own. Roberts carried the injured wolf “like a baby” before taking it outside and shooting it, Sublette County Prosecuting Attorney Clayton Melinkovich told the court.”

Havanna Miller, San Antonio

“SAN ANTONIO (October 28, 2025) – A 23-year-old San Antonio woman has been sentenced to 8 years’ probation after the court found her guilty on felony animal cruelty charges this afternoon. Havanna Miller originally pled no contest to 187th District Court Judge Stephanie Boyd last month, but a plea bargain resulted in a conviction sentence. Boyd sentenced Miller to 8 years of probation and a two-thousand-dollar fine, as well as mandatory anger management and responsible pet ownership courses. The court also restricted Miller from owning any pets during the course of her sentence.”

Email Issue

Today, I was unable to send out emails, most importantly the schedule request. After talking with my webhost, we discovered that my IP address was flagged as Spam/Malware. The reasons were numerous (someone using my email address for malicious intent, multiple people reported my email as Spam, VPN, firewall, virus/malware on my phone, etc), but we were able to resolve the issue & I can use my email address again.

The only problem now is that when I send an email to someone, it’ll go straight to their Spam Folder. To prevent another block, please check your Spam Folder, open my email, then click on the hamburger (or 3 dots), then hit the “Report Not Spam” option or move my email to your Inbox. Be sure to save my email address in your Contacts, too!

If you’re still unable to see my emails, please let me know so I can correct the issue immediately.

Heat Advisory: Cancelled Walks

Our Summers are getting hotter with temps over 90°F, now starting as early as May & more frequently. After our last heatwave, I passed out from heat exhaustion due to being outdoors with my dogs for over 5 hours. Despite having ice water & Gatorade throughout the day, I was sweating profusely & became dehydrated.

To ensure the health & safety of my dogs & myself, I will be cancelling walks & reschedule training when the temperature reaches 90°F. If it’s imperative that your pup(s) get a bathroom break , I’ll be happy to do a drop-in & spend time indoors with your dog(s).

All Day Care

I’m now offering All Day Care (ADC) for pet(s) who require 24hr supervision while you’re away. Similar to Overnight Care services – offering walks throughout the day, administrating meds, taking in the mail, & watering plants. ADC is great for dogs with separation anxiety, or elderly dogs requiring medication & help with incontinence.

The rate includes covering the costs of canceling my midday walks so that I can care for your dog throughout the day.

Happy International Dog Day
